The National Laboratory for Energy and Geology, (LNEG) is a public institute integrated into the State\u2019s indirect administration, with legal personality and administrative, financial, and asset autonomy, under the supervision and authority of the Ministry for Environment and Energy.<\/p>

Decree-Law No. 129\/2014, of August 29, approves LNEG\u2019s organizational structure, defining it as the State Laboratory whose mission is to promote and carry out research, demonstration and knowledge\u2011transfer activities, as well as technical and technological assistance and laboratory support directed at companies in the fields of energy and geology. Ordinance No. 81\/2015, of March 18, defines LNEG\u2019s statutes.<\/p>

LNEG is committed to complying with the obligations established by European data protection legislation, namely Regulation (EU) 2016\/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).<\/p>

The Personal Data Protection Policy described in this document establishes the legally binding commitments regarding the confidential management of personal data applicable to all activities carried out by LNEG.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

The right to personal data protection is a priority for LNEG. Ensuring that citizens, who entrust personal information to LNEG, are aware of the purpose of the information provided, as well as of the rights that they are entitled to within the GDPR.<\/p>

Accordingly, the holders of personal data, under the legal terms, can request, access, rectification or deletion of personal data, by contacting the Data Protection Officer (DPO).<\/p>

LNEG promotes mechanisms to limit the processing of personal data, to what is strictly necessary and corresponding to the offer of the various products and services, resulting from contracts or other, as well as the treatment of data from partners within the scope of partnerships in national, European or other projects.<\/p>

LNEG promotes the appropriate technical and organizational measures to comply with the principles of data protection, in accordance with the provisions of the GDPR, in the context of the purposes of processing information.<\/p>

In line with the provisions of the GDPR, LNEG has appointed a Person in Charge for the Protection of Personal Data, who can be contacted through the email address\u00a0epd@lneg.pt<\/a>\u00a0or by registered letter to Estrada da Portela, Bairro do Zambujal, Apartado 7586, Alfragide 2610-999, Amadora, Portugal.<\/p>

With this policy, LNEG discloses to all its employees and other interested parties the general rules of privacy and treatment of personal data that it collects and treats in a lawful, loyal and transparent manner, in strict respect and compliance with the General Regulation of Data Protection and other legislation in force in the Portuguese legal system.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

At LNEG, the processing of personal data may arise from the law, from the pursuit of the public interest, from the pursuit of legitimate interests, or if the data provider has unequivocally given his consent. It should also occur as long as it is necessary for the execution of a contract or for pre-contractual steps at the request of the data provider or for the fulfillment of any legal obligation. Information on the processing of personal data is provided to the data provider at the time of collection.<\/p>
